Great children’s Bible. Most children’s bibles i’ve seen leave out a really important theme…that we are lost and Jesus came to rescue us. Yes, the story of the little children coming to Jesus is always in all of them, but not the story where God banished us from His presence because of our sin or where Jesus died on the cross for us and lives today. But this children’s bible includes all of these stories in a great “storybook” format. A great resource for children as well as anyone who desires to understand the big picture of the Bible.
6 weeks of summer April 1, 2009
Every six weeks Nathan starts a new rotation. New people, new schedule, new patients, sometimes new hospitals, and this one has brought on a new season. Yes, spring is here but it feels more like summer around our house. Bike rides, sleeping in (as much as you can with a 20 month old), planting flowers, naps in the hammock, smores, late nights and picnics- these are what have filled our days. We have two weeks left and are soaking them up.

my daddy rocks.

let's play dress up
spring has arrived April 1, 2009
green shoots are appearing through the dead barren sticks that line our front walk. the trees are budding white delicate flowers that look fake they’re so perfect.
isn’t new life a wondrous thing.
and along with the green grass comes rain…so of course, emma had to get some rain gear (thanks to her nanny and papa!)

the family together...no way! yep, the first time in 5 years. the siblings (and spouses and little one) together Christmas morning. what a blast. what a gift. it was a great morning of costa rican eggs, blueberry french toast custard, leftover merk's coffee cake, fresh fruit, and one last meal together until...hmm..not for sure! hopefully sooner than later.

this christmas rocks. emma received some fun gifts from her aunt sarah and uncle john. however, i do believe the her most favorite was all the love and attention they gave her.
i want glasses for christmas December 28, 2008
- so one reason emma enjoyed aunt sarah so much was, she is the only adult that will let emma play with her glasses! emma was very proud of her new look. our little librarian.

entering the online world December 28, 2008
we have done it. we have plunged into the cyberspace community. there will probably be only 5 people to look at our blog in the next year, but hopefully it will allow us to keep in touch with dear friends and family members that live outside our little corner of the world.
